Ffynnon is a stone's throw away from the centre of Dolgellau, a
beautiful small market town situated at the foot of Cader Idris, one of the most majestic peaks in Wales. It is an excellent base for cycling, walking, watersports and climbing or for exploring the rest of Snowdonia. The World Class mountain biking centre of Coed y Brenin is only a few minutes away as is the Mawddach estuary, an area of immense beauty.

Dolgellau is also an important cultural centre, being the birthplace of the Quaker's in Wales, host to an annual folk and rock festival, Sesiwn Fawr and now home to Wales' newest cultural centre, Ty Siamas.
